OnTrack Engineering sponsored FIATECH’s semi annual meeting in Minneapolis September 17-20. Together with colleagues from technology vendors, owner-operators and EPC firms, we worked on committee action teams and attended presentations and brainstorming sessions around topics of interoperability and collaboration for capital projects.

FIATECH is an industry action group whose members are global leaders in identifying and accelerating the development, demonstration and deployment of fully integrated and automated technologies to deliver the highest business value throughout the life cycle of all types of capital projects. To support this mission, FIATECH has developed a “Roadmap for Capital Projects” to ensure the right technologies are developed and aligned. OnTrack Project Manager addresses multiple areas of the FIATECH roadmap including the key area of FIATECH focus: integrated, automated procurement and supply networks with their ability to add value to capital projects via real time project controls.

OnTrack Hosts Industry Breakfast in Calgary October 23^rd

OnTrack Engineering will host an Oil and Gas Industry Breakfast for owner-operators and the EPC firms who support their capital projects, October 23^rd in Calgary !

OnTrack, together with our clients and other participants, will discuss the topic of Collaboration for Project Success, drawing on our experience with integrated technologies for facility construction projects as well as presenting industry research in support of project team collaboration and a pair of case studies highlighting two alternative approaches to using technology to facilitate collaboration and add value to capital projects.

We have added a new training offering; OnTrack Self-training Online, a detailed self training program accessible via the Internet. This training module walks users step by step through our intuitive, logical work flow. Users can open the training module and OnTrack PM simultaneously using two screens, and toggle between course instructions and their own application. Online training is a best practice, cutting costs for our clients and providing them with instant training for new hires and refreshers for more seasoned users that can be accessed as and when needed.

Based on demand from our users and with their input and help, OnTrack Project Manager now has a robust planning interface which transfers data in both directions between OnTrack Project Manager and planning tools including Microsoft Project 2007 and Primavera. Every interface brings us a step closer to the premium value offered by end to end, interoperable solutions.
